Why do we make our training policies public? We feel it is
important that you are secure in how we operate, so please, be our guests and
feel free to browse.
FILM RIGHTS, MEDIA RIGHTS, PHOTOGRAPHIC RIGHTS AND SOUND RIGHTS
RPI holds media rights to film, audio and photographic evidence of any kind obtained from any investigation.
RPI members hold rights to their own film and may publish it, as desired, as long as two things happen.
#1. The patron (if there is one) agrees to publication.
#2. The media is not mis-represented on another website as that site's
investigation.
(This portion only pertains to members who have
paranormal related websites)
Sometimes team members have paranormal websites, and that's great. You
are free to publish any media from our investigations if you accompanied us
on that investigation, and/or were participant on the team during the time
that investigation was held.
You may NOT publish them as your team's media, or state that your team
took them.
Conduct
RPI team members always must conduct themselves in a professional manner.
In paranormal investigation, there is no set rule of professionalism, but we
do try to always appear, act and maintain our crew as if we are
professionals.
*Do not run screaming.
*Do not provoke or attack the paranormal as if you want to fight with it
without first consulting a lead team member.
*Do not leave your partner or team members behind.
*Safety is first. You must always walk away, no running is to occur. Running
causes injuries and you can fall and get hurt.
*Come to the manager, lead team member, communicate, try to get some kind of physical help
before leaving.
*Tell someone so they can help you.
*If you are running your own investigation within RPI's investigation, you
will be considered to be a non-participant in future events.
*Please wear appropriate dress for investigations.
*Shoes must be worn. This means no high heels,
slippery shoes or shoes which can be dangerous to walk in. Attire must be
appropriate for bending, sitting and crawling.
*Be aware of rattlesnakes, which are epidemic in our area.
*Pants and shirts are safe, but in summer months, appropriate attire is fine
for idoor investigations. Please keep in mind that outdoor investigations
may require pants if we are walking in rattlesnake country, as they may
prevent snake bite penetration.
*No logos, as they film and we'd have to give commissions to companies . If
wearing a logo, duct tape is to be placed over said logo for our team's
protection.
*Please, no perfume, as it may interfere with paranormal aromas.
Conduct includes the following respects of all
team members and their beliefs.
Not everyone has the same religion. Absolutely no beliefs or politics may be
discussed. If discussed, do not intercept with your ideas. Let it slide. Do
not convert members to your belief system.
No discrimination of ANY kind will be tolerated
and team members will be respected no matter what race, religion, color,
creed, sexual orientation, health, financial status or any other personal
issue which may differ from yours or mine occur. We do not discriminate and
members are to be tolerable of each other and other beliefs which they may
not commonly hold.
*Please do not try to discount personal experiences of other members. Just
because you are experiencing something different does not mean that their
experience is null and void and if a member feels directed to investigate a
certain area, then please go with them and allow that, not hampering their
direction.
*There are set individuals who have more experience than others. On
the day of this policy revision, the set members who are considered to be in
leadership are as follows: Sleepy, Brad, Laurie, Renee & Chanelle.
*The manager is in charge. Please follow directions.
*Do not argue with anyone on the team. Team members who argue or do not get along do not belong on this
team.
*You are asked, upon applying, whether you can handle constructive
leadership, or not . If it's given in a kind way, and is not meant to hurt
your feelings, but instead to forward the efforts of RPI, you are REQUIRED,
as a team member, not to argue. Stating a point is one thing, but
saying, "I didn't", "I wasn't", "You're wrong", are not options, because if
it comes to the point where someone has to discuss an issue with you, then
you have an issue and everyone is aware of it.
*When leaving a building, the entire team must leave and is not to address
managers, coworkers of businesses or patrons on a personal level. This is a
professional outfit.
*Patrons are given all appropriate phone numbers and contact upon entry, and
so it is not necessary for team members to give their telephone numbers,
email or other information to patrons.
*Please bring any equipment you can to a investigation. Using it is at your
own risk as is your health during investigations. The team is not
responsible for lost or stolen equipment and if you use team equipment, you
must be careful not to break it.
*By notifying the team manager you read and understand the RPI policies, you
are releasing RPI of any liability to health, mental health, physical health
and equipment that may occur, and you are signifying that you understand
that by your participation with RPI in any investigation or event, you are
under an "ASSUMED RISK". An ASSUMED RISK means that you knew the job
was dangerous when you took it, so to speak. If you are going down a
flight of stairs in the dark, for an RPI event, fall and get hurt, RPI will
not be held liable. You are assuming your own risk by risking your own
health, equipment, vehicle and longevity by going on any RPI event. (This
clause will again be stated at the end of the training manual, page 3).
Members missing three meetings or events without calls or valid excuses are
dismissed from further investigations.
